Sunday Standard

Distance: 5 Miles

Elevation: 230 Feet

The Sunday Standard is a scenic 5 mile run that offers the perfect blend of road and trail for our Andover Run Club runs. Starting in Kittatiny State Park, the route immediately joins the Sussex Branch Trail, a historic rail trail that carries you through peaceful woodlands and past open horse farms. With a steady but manageable elevation gain of 230 feet, the course keeps your legs engaged without ever feeling overwhelming. The surface is a near-even split between paved road and packed trail, offering a refreshing change of pace and scenery as you move through Andover Township and the surrounding countryside.

At the midpoint of the run, runners tackle the Luchetti Road climb — a short but noticeable hill that adds a touch of challenge before descending back to the start. Shaded stretches through the woods provide a cool, calming backdrop, while occasional open fields offer wide, sweeping views of the rural landscape. We return to the parking lot with roughly half a mile to go so you always have the chance to cut it short.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, logging easy miles, or simply looking for a refreshing escape, the Sunday Standard delivers a satisfying mix of nature, challenge, and tranquility.
